Many times I would be looking to switch between companions but could never seem to locate them. In the sanctuary Dogmeat has three dog houses he will be sitting at. Isolate one and you give him no choice but to spawn in a location of your choice. Also you can build a bell to call any companions or settlers to your position to save yourself a headache of locating them.
